Talk to yourself in front of a mirror! Does it really improve my speaking or not?! Today a new friend of mine on italki, told me I can improve my English speaking skills using a mirror! He/She believes that talking in front of a mirror for about an hour a day can improve speaking. In my opinion this method just improves pronunciation. What's your idea about this method? Does it really works and is it really useful method? Thanks for your answers...

i would advise of recording yourself. my point is just speaking in front of the mirrow not enough. it is important to express your own opinion in different subjects. i usually choose some questions which demand unfold reply and when i am answering i am recording. after that i can check myself, my pronunciation, grammer correctness,re-think other ways i could say some saying and so on.

I believe it would be a good way to practice when there is nobody that you can converse with in that language. Of course, it would help with pronounciation as well. Speaking, or even thinking in the language you are learning is a good way to keep yourself from forgetting. I often practice the language I am learning by talking to my mom while we walk through the grocery store, even though she can hardly understand me, I get a bit of practice.

Yes, of course. You can watch yourself while you pronounce the words. Naturally, you also have to be critical and pay attention to what you are doing.
