Democratic idea is idea of equal chances for every social class in society. That means if someone does something wrong it should be equally punished as everyone(rich and poor). It means all citizen has power in their hands by electing their leaders. Everyone has freedom to state their opinion as long as it is not too offensive.
At least that is what is on paper, but a lot of times that word is abused especially in many country names. It means no guaranty for actual democratic values.
