what's the difference between 웬일이야 and 어쩐일이야?

same and both are spoken korean and informal you can also say 웬일이야 when you've heard that someone's get promoted or a guy who don't clean up his room often clean his room really perfectly you can say 웬일이야 to show them that you are surprised

They are same and both mean 'what's up'. 웬일 = 어찌된 일
