What does Your stare was holding, means? Please help me.
threw a wish in the well
Don't ask me, I'll never tell
I looked to you as it fell
and now you're in my way
I trade my soul for a wish,
pennies and dimes for a kiss
I wasn't looking for this,
but now you're in my way
Your stare was holding,
Ripped jeans, skin was showing
Hot night, wind was blowing
Where you think you're going, baby?
What does "Your stare was holding", means? Please help me.
I don't know the meaning of the word "holding" in the context.

It means the stare wasn't breaking. It was unwavering/constant.
Which isn't really necessary to say as 'stare' is defined as 'a long fixed look'. Its added for an exaggerated effect, but people don't really use it in conversation (as far as I am aware; I haven't heard anyone it).
