「では、また」の使い方教えてください。
Can I use 「では、また」 to end a text conversation? Can I only use it when I'm going to see the person that day, or even when I'm not going to see them (like in the case of online chats with people in different countries)?

You can use in a text conversation too.
And also you can use the phrase in any case if it's used as good-by.

In my opinion, "では、また" can mean "I hope to see/talk with/write to you again", so I think you can use in any situation, except in a very formal letter. And, as is the case with the English words "see you again", you can use it just as a social etiquette.

"Humans are complicated" - Indeed!
Thank you for the explanation, Masaya.

では、また basically implies “I hope to see you again” “I'll see you again” etc but Humans are complicated. It's obviously not uncommon that people say では、また, but they never replies after that online... (^-^)
