Everyone shared ____ his happiness.
A. on
B. in
C. at
D. against
Note: I don’t think a preposition is needed here. If B is the answer, what do you think is the difference between B and filling in nothing?Just want to make sure I understand the sentence:
"Everyone shared his happiness" means everyone is happy because he is happy. Am I right?Or everyone is happy to see him happy.

B is the correct answer.
There is no important difference in the meaning between "shared his unhappiness" and "shared in his unhappiness".
I guess you might say that "shared in" gives the visual impression of participation in the unhappiness, but it is a small detail, in my opinion.

I have just refer to Oxford Advanced Learner's English-Chinese Dictionary .It says 'share in sth' and 'share sth ' is just alike . I wish this will help .
