I am curious to know what is exactly das Christkind, and what are exactly the differences between Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and the US or England

There is no short explanation besides that it is a traditional christmas gift-bringer therfore the links. It's also another word for a christmas gift in south Germany and Austria.
