Parcel Delivery Today I got a delivery of four parcels each over 20 kg. The DHL guy didn't even breathe a bit quicker after he had carried the fourth parcel to the 4th floor. He was running light footedly up the stairs two steps at a time. After half an hour of schlepping them to the 5th floor, unpacking and shelving the goods and the subsequent cutting apart of the boxes and the other packaging material and going the way to and back from the paper waste bin I needed a rest and a glass of water. Thereafter, I mused about the sparsity of parcel deliverymen/women in the rows of marathon runners or these „next year I'm going to train for marathon". I imagined how he would say: „I train for the marathon before work; cycling (managing officers often say driving, but that's a clear mistake) to work full of energy after the first victory of the day that's great. I do it at least four to six times a week and I use the training for self-leadership (?Selbstführung - I love this word). To run an attractive marathon motivates me to overcome my weaker lazier inner self and what's more it gives me lasting energy creativity and endurance in my job. I've learned I could achieve anything if I do it step by step.
