I know it might be hard as a beginner, but once you've achieved your basic level you're bound to start to read genuine kind of texts( e.g. - www, derspiegel.de - www.sueddeutsche.de - www.zeit.de - www.faz.net -) or maybe radio (there are numerous streams available). Even if you don't understand everything, you'll progress significantly faster listening to some of them daily ! Enjoy! :-)

In my view you have two options: (1) If you only want to learn German for a trip to Germany, then I recomment to buy a good travel guide that lists some useful phrases that helps you to introduce yourself, or order a meal in a restaurant, or book a room in a hotel, or just do some basic smalltalk. Although most Germans know English they will be pleased to see if someone tries to speak German. (2) If you really want to spend some days or even weeks learning German, then I recommend not to learn it from any website. Either try to find a classroom course, or buy an online course with manuals, excersises, and CDs.
