It's not really a word but a sound people make in order get someone's attention. Or if they have a cold or their throat has a lot of mucus inside of it.

"er-h'r'm" is used to replace any other word, usually an obscene word.
It behaves as the joker in the pack, and can also be used when you momentarily forget what something is called.
