“Armario” can be translated differently in different parts of the US. In my area it is called an “armoire.” It is sometimes accented on the second syllable giving it a French pronunciation, and also commonly accented on the first syllable, sounding like the English word, "armor." I think in some areas it is called a "wardrobe."

Actually, I think most Americans would say "wardrobe" instead of "armoire". Armoire may be the most commonly used word in just the French-speaking parts of Louisiana.

It can mean different things but generally it refers to a night stand.
