Please tell me what does this phrase mean ?
She was hot-tempered and easily plagued by the frequent scrapes of her sons . what does " plagued by the frequent scrapes "means? from <gone with wind> chapter1

I would take that to mean she was easily bothered by the fights of her sons. Scrape doesn't necessarily mean physical fight, but it could.

She had a bad temper and was easily annoyed by the fights of her sons. Scrapes can mean a problem you get yourself into also. Plagued is a good word also but more formal. You can scrape your leg on something and it can bleed. You can just about scrape through a test. You can scrape paint off a wall. There are lots of meanings for this one word , but definitely fights is one of the meanings for scrapes.
