How can I say "I've never seen _____ before" in korean?
I know that typically to say that you've never done (or tried) something before, you just add ~본 적 없어요 to the conjugated verb. However, is it the same with 보다?
Saying
봐본 작 없어요
Doesn't sound quite right to me

You can say "봐 본 적 없어요", but just "본 적 없어요" would sound more natural.:)
It's like..."I am going to go to a shop" and "I am going to a shop." in English.
