Fallecido y difunto, son sinónimas? Tengo una pregunta sobre las palabras fallecido y difunto, son sinónimas o hay una diferencia pequeña entre las dos? Leí en alguna pagina de web que una de ellas tengo la acepción que la persona murió recientemente. Pero no sé si es correcto.

fallecer = verb - becomes dead=to die difunto = adj - describes the state of being dead

En España fallecido se utiliza principalmente como verbo "Mi marido ha fallecido" y difunto se utiliza como adjetivo "Mi difunto marido" y como sustantivo "El día de los difuntos"

Yo diría que son sinónimas, no creo que haya ninguna diferencia. "fallecido" y "difunto" se pueden emplear ambas como sustantivo. Y también, como dice Santiago, "fallecido" es el participio del verbo fallecer y "difunto" también se emplea como adjetivo.
