"have a good opinion of somebody" means "get a good impression of somebody"?
If you have respect for someone, you have a good opinion of them.
"have a good opinion of somebody" means "get a good impression of somebody"?
Please help me!!^ ^

Impression is the feeling you get, so if someone is a good person, you get that impression, that someone is good.
And usually what follows a good impression is a good opinion ;) so you already know that they are good, you saw it yourself, you had something to do with them and it's no longer a feeling or a guess.
