What does whether and rather means?
What does it mean whether and rather and how can i use it in sentence? I search its meaning and its was very confusing,i am not getting their meanings..want a clear and detail answer with usage..

Whether means "if" For example: I want to know whether he said it or not.
Rather means "quite", that is "to some extent", For example: The homework was rather difficult.
Rather is used a lot with "would", For example: I would rather watch TV than read a book. It means: I prefer watching TV to reading books.
