what's the difference between "fight' and "battle" when they used as verb?

A battle is a large scale fight that's part of a war.
A fight can be a battle, or it can just be two people throwing punches at each other.

You may have a fight with your bf or husbund, but hope you never have a battle with him. That's the difference

The only difference is with the period of time. Battle will last longer than fight :D
