The phrase "그래야" is easy to look up but the above mentioned phrase is tricky to follow. What does it mean?

그래야만 한다.
그리해야만 한다.
그렇게 해야만 한다.
그렇게 해야-만 한다.
반드시 그렇게 해야 한다.
반드시 그와 같이 하여야 한다.
to have absolutely to do something

그래야만 한다 means '(someone) have to do so.'
-아야/어야 하다 is used when something has to be done,
and you can add '만' when you want to emphasize it.
