What does "war-torn country" mean?
What does "war-torn country" mean?
I need to translate a text in russian, but no dictionary gives me the translation or meaning of the word "war-torn". i suppose it is something like "torn by war"? Help me, please. :)

a war-torn country, city etc is being destroyed by war.

Depends on the context. 'A war-torn country' also may be 'a country that was parted between two or more other countries, which fought for it's territories'.

раздираемая войной --- это если предложение в прошедшем времени
но
в прошлом времени оно не будет "раздёртая" :))
нужно смотреть по тексту
может быть как "страна, разделённая войной" так и "страна, разорённая войной"... зависит от того как они там что tear
