What does "I stand corrected" mean? Thanks...
When i proofread a person's translation, i gave him a suggestion on a sentence which i think need to be adjusted. He said "I stand corrected". What does it mean? I'm confused...Thanks...

It is a way of saying 'I thought I was right, but now I understand the proper meaning that you have given me, and I acknowledge your greater knowledge in this matter'. In other words - 'I was wrong, you are right; thank you'.
