I want to ask what is the different with "prison" and "jail"

There is no difference between PRISON and JAIL for they both use for individuals which forcibly confined and denied a variety of freedoms under the authority of the state as a form of punishment.

The prisoner comes inside the prison whereas the jailor remains outside the prison.
