"Check in" or "touch base" in Arabic? How would you translate the colloquial phrase "just checking in" or "just touching base" into Arabic? Or, what would you say in such a context instead?

hello i think the first phrase it means : يدقق فيه .. يفحصه .. يتأكد منه the second : فى البدايات .. فى الاساسيات
