Mientra v. Mientras
Are there two separate words? Mientra y mientras? If so, when do you use one and when the other?
Thanks

"Mientras" viene de la palabra "mientra". Actualmente, sólo se usa la palabra "mientras". ^_^
Mientras = while, as long as
Mientras que = whereas

Hola, Niki. There is only one word: "mientras". Never without '-s'.
"mientra" doesn't exist.
"Mientras" is a conjunction (special word or particle that works to link two sentences), translation into English is "while".

Hola, se utiliza "mientras", esa es la forma correcta.
Un ejemplo sería: "Caminaba por el parque MIENTRAS estaba lloviendo"
"while", that is the right way!

I got it as a suggested correction on something I wrote. I'll have to double check that I saw it correctly.
