Is it correct to use "is " in this sentence?
Here is a sentence in the book I am reading, "It's getting dark early now, and them streets is dangerous." Is it correct to use "is " in this sentence? or should use "are"? And I also don't know why "them streets" instead of "the streets". Thanks!

The writer has deliberately used incorrect grammar here, to indicate that it is an uneducated person speaking.

Su Ki is right. The author is using poor grammar in the dialogue because this is how the character speaks, with poor grammar. The correct grammar is: It's getting dark early now, and those streets are dangerous.
