How yo say 'In waiting for a travel" in German?

It depends on the context. "Angesichts" contains "Gesicht", so the basic meaning is "facing, concerning".
"Angesichts der Reise von Frau Merkel wurden die Sicherheitskontrollen verschärft" is a possible usage.
But I assume you probably want to use "In waiting for a travel" in a different context. If you mean "waiting for the trip to happen, looking forward for the trip to happen" the expression is "in Erwartung der Reise".
