FUE and FUI?
What is the difference between the two Spanish words fue and fui? Thanks!

Also remember that "fui" and "fue" can be the past forms from two different verbs. They can be the verb "ser" (to be) or the verb "ir" (to go):
Yo fui un estudiante --> I was a student.
Yo fui a Japón --> I went to Japan.
Él fue un estudiante --> He/She was a student.
Él fue a Japón --> He/She went to Japan.
