P.S. in case Joshua is right... in part because of the influence of Italian immigrants, and in part because of the popularity of Italian cuisine, a lot of Italian pasta names are now widely understood English words. Our local supermarket carries spaghetti, macaroni, ravioli, tortellini, rigatoni, lasagna, fettuccine, and, yes, penne. None of these would need to be translated, nor do they have translations.

Hey the English translation for Penna could be Pen.

Could it possibly mean a "feather," such as the feathers that cover a bird? Or, could it possibly be a "pen," for writing with ink, which centuries ago was made from a quill (feather) of a goose?

can you define "penna"? if you mean "penne" then its the exact same as its origin language.
