How do I say "I need to catch the bus" in Spanish?
The other day I was in a class and I had to leave early to "catch the bus". So i wanted to say this, but all i knew how to say was tomar el autobus. Is there a better way to say this?

NECESITO TOMAR EL AUTOBUS /BUS or NECESITO AGARRAR EL AUTOBUS in latin america.
NECESITO COGER EL AUTOBUS in Spain , avoid to use COGER in latin America.

Hola Ashlynn
" tomar el autobus" is totally right, you can say
Me voy porque necesito tomar el autobus
or you can also say
Me voy porque necesito alcanzar el autobus.
this last sentence emphasise a little bit more the idea that if you dont leave right now you wont be able to chatch the bus

It's depends on where you are, for instance, I'm Dominican, in my county we use to say "me voy temprano porque tengo que coger el autobus", or we also use to say "coger la guagua."

Hi Ashlynn!
In Spain the correct expression is: "coger el autobús".
In Latin America, as Evandro says, the correct form is: "tomar el autobús".

"tomar el bus", no es totalmente correcto. Quizás en algunos países de América Latina se use esa expresión, pero en el verdadero Español no es del todo correcto decirlo así. Es mejor que digas "coger el bus" "necesito coger el bus"
