hometown vs mother town
are they the same? thanks

I've actually never heard the expression mother town. I would say hometown is the correct version.

Tracy is right. Mother town is never used.
Motherland is sometimes used to indicate the country something is from.

Yes, hometown is used, but the term 'mother town' doesn't exist.
