¿Hay una diferencia entre las dos palabras? ¿Tienen el mismo sentido o hay pequeñas diferencias de connotación?

Hola,
La diferencia consiste en que "DIARIO" corresponde a algo que acontece TODOS LOS DIAS y "COTIDIANO" está más relacionado con "HABITUAL".
El sol sale a diario.......... Lo cotidiano en China es comer arroz todos los días.
