I feel this phrase is wired, because "look" of verb is followed by "put" of verb.

To look put together is to dress well. If you look put together you pay attention to your appearance and you dress appropriately for your work. In the case of your sentence, we could say "I work as a receptionist at a spa so I need to dress professionally"
