What is the root جذر for the word آل , as in آل سعود or آل مكتوم ?
Is the جذر for the word آل
" أ و ل " or " أ ل ل " ?Both جذر have some meaning about blood relationship or family.
مختار الصحاح seems to say the جذر is " أ و ل " , but I am not sure.

أ ل ل is totally different , it means " أهل"
It's origin is not a name , it is a verb " يؤول"

Yes, this is one explanation for the origin of آل, but another opinion suggests also being a derivative of أهل (Which means The Family).
