How to learn English new words effectively? I don't want to recite the words alone. I know it is better to learn new words in text, but I still couldn't remember them.

Try learning one word at a time, within different texts. Don't move on until you have mastered this word. A lot of time, people don't remember words because they are simply learning too much at once!

This is my personal method, since the brain recalls information by association, I learn new words with an association. Our brains are constantly processing clusters of information. For example, if I gave you 6 objects/things to memorize in 30 seconds, it is going to be harder than if I told you a short story with the 6 words. Here is the example.... Memorizing individually _______ Red House White Dog Black cat Blue car Tall Boy Short Girl Memorizing by association ________ Your new neighbors moved in next door. A tall boy and shoe girl live in the bug red house next to you. Outside, they have a blue car parked on the driveway. They have a big white dog and a small black cat. ** It seems lengthy but the imagery and association in the story will help you recall learned material faster and in clusters. When I learn new words/verbs in Arabic, I talk out loud like a story. You can use it for vocabulary, pronunciation etc.

I think it is better to say the words-- even if it is only to yourself. Also, try to think of something that you have a desire to say, then translate it into English words.
