In "Sie haben die Mittlere Reife gemacht", how should "die Mittlere ReifeÄ be translated into English_

"Mittlere Reife" is the school-leaving certification you get after attending school for 10 years in the German system (often at a Realschule). It's difficult to translate into English, because the school system in English countries is different. So there's no direct equivalent.
When talking about things that are particular to a certain country, you often keep the term in the original language even in the translation.
