What does Epic mean?

I would agree with the poster above me, but "epic" can also be used when speaking as slang for "awesome" or "incredible". For example, two friends might say:
Person 1: "Did you hear Mr. Zurcher yodeling in class today?"
Person 2: "I did! It was epic."
**this is kind of extra**
Using slang is kind of a style choice. Using the word "epic" instead of "awesome" or "incredible" here gives a different feel to the sentence.

As a noun: a story about a hero or about great, important events
As an adjective: very large, often in the phrase "in epic proportions"
