Es dificil de traducirlo con solo una palabra y por eso los que estan aprendiendo espanol tienen los mismos problemas tambien.
Por lo general depende del tiempo...
Pasado --> "already" (Lo he leido ya. --> I already read it.)
Presente --> "now", "right now" (Lo quiero ya. --> I want it [right] now!)
Presente (negativo) --> "anymore", "no longer" (Ya no trabaja aqui --> She doesn't work there anymore")
Ya que = "since" (mas o menos = "because" al principio de una frase)
Algunas veces se usa "ya" para enfatizar algo y en este caso depende del contexto.
