Un fermier désigne quelqu'un qui travaille dans une ferme.
Un agriculteur désigne quelqu'un qui cultive la terre. (Blé, maïs...)

Personnally i said in two ways "farmer" first litteral traduction:"fermier" second:"agriculteur" after maybe other traductions but i never use the others so i don't think about these.
