Questions:
'How do you say 'saudades' in English?' and 'Can I say 'nostalgia?'
Answer:
As Joe has already told you, 'saudades' is a uniquely Portuguese word that can't easily be translated into other languages.
You can use the word 'nostalgia', and Joe has given you some useful phrases with this word. But it's important to understand that 'nostalgia' always refers to a feeling about the past. Nostalgia is a sense that the past - five years ago or fifty years ago - was 'the good old days', and you wish that life was still like that now.
Other English words which explain the idea of 'saudades' are the old-fashioned word 'melancholy', which means a prolonged feeling of sadness, and the verb 'to long for' (as in 'I long to see you again') and the noun 'longing' (as in 'nostalgia is a longing for the past').
However, in most cases, the easiest translation is with the verb to 'miss'. For example, if you are away from your home and family, and feeling sad, you can say 'I'm really missing my home'. Or if a person is no longer in your life, you can say 'I miss him' or 'I miss her'.

Unfortunately we dont have an equivalent to Saudade in English. I would use the following constructions:
I'm feeling nostalgic about _____.
This gives me a nostalgic feeling.
This is nostalgic.
This makes me feel nostalgic.
Hope this helps :)
