How do I use yori/より in a natural way in Japanese?
I was hoping someone could explain how to use "より." I would like a few sentences to drill so that I can absorb it.

「より」 has a lot of meaning.

1 比較の標準・基準を表す。
「思ったより若い」
「以前より腕があがった」

2 ある事物を、他との比較・対照としてとりあげる意を表す。
「僕より君のほうが金持ちだ」
「音楽より美術の道へ進みたい」

3 (打消しの語と呼応して)それに限定するという意を表す。
「そうするよりほかはない」
「狭いが、ここで寝るよりしかたがない」

4 動作・作用の起点を表す。…から。
「午前10時より行う」
「父より手紙が届いた」
「東より横綱登場.」

The right answer is 
prefer A to B = BよりAがすき , A is better than B　＝BよりAがgood

Basically, we use より for comparing.
For example,
I prefer apple to orange. わたしは、orange　より　apple が　すきです。（I prefer)

AよりB＝　prefer A to B
