"about" VS "of"
I see more similarities than differences in using the two preposition.
For example
"think about" or "think of"
"dream about" or "dream of"

For the "dream" point:
Dream of: your goals
i dream of being a singer (you want that )
Dream about: your actual dreams
i dream about being a singer. (you see yourself being a singer in your dream.)
