The English language has a "phonetic system" to help foreigners learn how to pronunciate words. But i must warn you, native spearkers DO NOT learn this, we don't need to. So never ask a native speaker for help with your phonetics. How do we learn how to pronunciate new words then? I hear you ask...simple - active = ak-tiv terminate = tur-muh-neyt etc. Check out www.dictionary.com when you check a word, it will give you the pronunciation next to it. Enjoy
