Which is the proper name "Japanese giant wasp" or "Japanese giant hornet"?
As you might already know the Japanese giant wasp (hornet?) is a species of the largest wasps in the world. I have asked some native English speakers in Japan the above question. They told me it was "wasp". However wikipedia describes it as "hornet." What's the difference between wasp and hornet?

There is a difference between 'wasp' and a 'honet'. Namely, there is a differece in size, color and aggression.
