why in this case we use cuánto but cuántas
Hi
There is a sentence I don't understand "¿Cuánto cuestan las uvas?", "las uvas" is plural and feminine, but why we use cuánto but cuántas.
Thank you
嗨,大家好
有一個句子"¿Cuánto cuestan las uvas?"我弄不明白,為什麼"Las uvas"是複數且陰性,但是前面的開頭是用Cuánto而不是Cuántas?謝謝

¿Cuánto (dinero) cuestan las uvas?
'Cuánto' goes with 'dinero', not with 'uvas'. Even if we omit the word 'dinero', that is the amount you're asking about, not the amount or grapes.

In this case, "cuánto" is part of the phrase "cuánto cuestan" and refers to the amount of money, not to the number of grapes, so gender and number agreement with "uvas" is not needed. But if you were asking about the quantity of the grapes themselves, you would indeed write: "¿Cuántas uvas hay?"
