what does state- of-the-art mean?
In a conversation, I found somebody said: " It includes a state- of-the-art photocopier and 2 fax machines". I really don't know what state- of-the-art means. Could you please give me some explanation?

It means that it is the newest model. It means that they bought the newest, best photocopier and fax machines that there is.

State means a condition or model, of the art means that the product is consistent with the modern competitors advancements in technology.

It means the highest level, in the case of a copier the technology.
