Difference between Bei/Rang and Jiao Hi, can someone please explain to me the difference between Bei, Rang and Jiao ? Can you explain it to me in English if possible? Also would be great if you have some examples of how to use the above words? Thanks Haya

According to my textbook: I oral Chinese bei can be replaced by jiao and rang. But when the doer does not need to be explained, bei may be put before the verb without the doer. However jiao and rang cannot be used in this way. - wodezixingchejiezoule - CORRECT - wodezixingchejiao/rangjiezoule - WRONG

bei is a passive way,for example ,the phone is threw by me ! rang is a initiative way ,for example, i let her buying a coffee for me . jiao is a little same as rang ,but ,from a chinese 'view ,it isnot courteous,in general case ,superior make his junior doing something ,we usually use the word "jiao "

I'm guessing they want to know about 被、让、and 叫 as used as passive markers. Not a native speaker, but I think 被 is more common, and doesn't require a subject, whereas the other two do. ie 我的车被偷了。makes sense but for the others you'd need to say 我的车让小偷偷了。

Hi Haya, it would help if you provide the general meaning so that it could be easier to recognize these three words. Are they "背","朗",and "教"?I am only guessing.
