لقيط =foundling They can't say it correctly because It's one of a disgraced word in the Arabic language

يوجد لفظ لقيط أي يتيم و ابن شوارع

قرأت فى المعجم الوسيط اللقص السريع إلى الشر، وـ الكثير الكلام، وليس بهذا المعجم لقيث أو لقيص

لا يوجد يوجد لفظ " لقيط" و هو الطفل أو الرضيع الذى وُجِد ملقى لا يعرف أحد أبواه. and by the way it IS different from "Orphan" لقيط = Foundling : an infant that has been abandoned by its parents and is discovered and cared for by others. while Orphan = يتيم an orphan's parents are known ,they're just both or at least one of them is dead. I hope the difference is clear.
