En inglés el verbo "to let" como en "let's go" significa un mandato en la primera persona del plural como "Vamonos". Otros ejemplos son, "Let's eat" o "Comamos" y "Let's walk" o "Caminemos" etc. Los otros usos como "Let me go" usaría el verbo "permitir" como "Permitame a ir" etc. Hay muchos otros usos como ella dijo arriba, "Don't let me down" significa, "No me defraude". Espero que le diera ayuda!

Let is a verb that means not prevent or forbid; allow. Eg Let me do this. I'll let you eat from my bowl. Don't let me down. Let's go is a contraction of let us go.
