Hi!
I came across this sentence while reading a book and I couldn't find its meaning. Can you help me?
Thanks!

flush just means 2 objects are completely touching each other.
"Is this shelf flush against/with the wall?"

Thanks! Yes, it's indeed a romance. Is it sort of an expression?

Aha, that must have been a romance book, yes? ;) It actually means something like, "He pressed himself very tightly against me."
