Prepare or get ready
How would you say? In case both would be correct...which one sounds better?
I'm getting ready to go out or I'm preparing to go out..
Thanks in advance

Getting ready is more natural. Preparing is used more for 'preparing dinner', 'preparing documents'. Preparing is more formal and I only really hear it being used with things like paperwork.
I hope this helps.
