Is "spielend Fremdwörter lernen" correct translation for "playful learning foreign words"?

Yes, given the right context it can mean that.
But the Problem is this Phrase has another meaning as well, which is much more used, therefore people will most likely assume the dominant meaning.
It can mean " learning foreign words easily" .
This is because doing something "spielend" (=easily) means that a task is so easy to acomplish that you could play around while doing it.
So in short, it is correct you can use it, but there should be a context which implies the act of "playing" . Standing alone, I would assume the other meaning while reading the Phrase.
Just wanted to inform you about that.
